First Aid & CPR Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan
The number of attendants depends on the hazard level and the number of workers present at one time. Two attendant classes: Class A (min. 14 h first aid + 4 h CPR) for most sites, and Class B (min. 60 h first aid + 8 h CPR) for higher-hazard or remote sites; a person licensed under The Paramedics Act may also serve. Attendants must cover the worker volume given the risk.
Online training is recognized in Saskatchewan; the practical portion of attendant certificates is normally in person.
- Class A / Class B attendant system: the ~68-hour combined Class B stream is among the longest in Canada for a non-advanced certification.
- CSA alignment (Z1220-17 for kits) in force since April 1, 2021 with the OHS Regulations, 2020.
- The risk assessment weighs both total worker count and workplace hazard level to set the number of attendants.
