Online first aid courses

Saskatchewan requires employers to appoint enough trained first-aid attendants scaled to hazard level and headcount under The Saskatchewan Employment Act and Part 5 of The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020. Attendants are Class A (min. 14 h first aid + 4 h CPR) or Class B (min. 60 h + 8 h CPR) depending on hazard and worker volume.

Saskatchewan's Child Care Regulations, 2015 require anyone employed 65 or more hours a month as a centre director, supervisor or child care worker to hold a first-aid course satisfactory to the Director and a CPR course matched to the children's ages. At least one first-aid-certified person must be on the premises during all hours of operation.

Under Saskatchewan's Emergency Medical Aid Act, a person — professional or lay — who voluntarily provides emergency medical services or first aid at the immediate scene faces no liability for damages unless there is gross negligence. There is no legal duty to rescue and no dedicated AED statute; lay AED use falls under the Act's general immunity.

Nurses in Saskatchewan (regulated by CRNS and SALPN under The Registered Nurses Act, 1988) must complete an annual Continuing Competence Program, and physicians are regulated by the CPSS. Continuing competence is not measured in fixed hours, but a current BLS or CPR certificate is generally an employer requirement in hospital and long-term-care settings.

Saskatchewan Continuing Care Assistant programs require a Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certificate prior to clinical placement in long-term-care facilities and personal care homes. A recognized, up-to-date certificate meets the requirement, in addition to the assistant's occupational training, and must be renewed periodically.

In Saskatchewan, certification in Standard First Aid and CPR is mandatory for all foster parents, with the required standard being Standard First Aid with CPR (Level B) recognized by Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety and recertification every three years. It is coordinated through the provincial foster families association and the Ministry of Social Services, alongside PRIDE core caregiver training.

Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Saskatchewan for personal, childcare licensing, and employer requirements, with a 3-year certification validity. The practical portion of attendant certificates is normally completed in person.
